Knitting with Beads
Introduction to Intarsia Colorwork Basics Knitting in the Shadows: an Introduction to Shadow Knitting Kyle Kunnecke is a fiber artist and designer based in Tacoma, WA, with a not-so-secret passion for colorwork. He loves exploring the skills that help knitters deepen their craft and continue their own creative journeys.
Kyle's patterns have been published in books, magazines, and yarn company collections, as well as under his own label, Kyle William™. His book Urban Knit Collection (Revised 2nd Edition, David & Charles) features 18 modern knitting patterns inspired by architecture and city life, and includes an expanded section on trapping floats in stranded colorwork. His studio is home to spinning wheels, knitting machines, and dyeing equipment — because why stop at just one fiber obsession? Kyle teaches workshops online and at events around the country, and believes that once you understand the technique, have the time, and want to — you can make anything. He also believes creativity has the power to heal, and that when we share our stories through craft, the world becomes a better place. |
